Dear friends in Christ, I sincerely invite you to consider joining me on this pilgrimage to Greece and Turkey to walk in the footsteps of the great Apostle, Paul. From being a persecutor of the faith to becoming one of its most fearless defenders, St. Paul’s conversion is a unique and powerful story which continues to inspire many even beyond the Christian world. The life of faith is a spiritual journey, a process of ongoing conversion, and there is no better person to inspire us on this journey than the Apostle Paul. By going on this pilgrimage, we shall have the opportunity to visit the sites from where he wrote some of his letters and preached some of his sermons. We shall experience some of the communities he founded and influenced through his writings and ministry. It will offer us a window into the many sacrifices he made and the ways through which he was able to become an effective minister of the Gospel. By walking in his footsteps, we shall develop a much better understanding and a deeper appreciation of the Sacred Scriptures especially the New Testament. Indeed, this pilgrimage will certainly illuminate and strengthen our understanding of what it means to be a Christian in the world today. In Philippians 1:21, St. Paul summarizes the Christian life with these words: To live is Christ, and to die is gain. In a time when many are confused about what it means to be a Christian and how to defend or explain the Christian faith to others, I believe that walking in the footsteps of this great apostle, will inspire and motivate us to understand that the Christian faith is truly a great treasure in earthen vessels. I hope and pray that you will accompany me on this pilgrimage so that together we can follow in the path of his great apostle and as such, discover the mysteries of the tender love of God who desires the salvation of all.
