Ireland Pilgrimage 10 Days

Day 1
Depart for Ireland

Depart today on board your overnight transatlantic flight to Dublin, arriving the following day in Ireland, the Emerald Isle. Meals served on flight.

Day 2
Arrival to Dublin

Arriving in Dublin, we our meet Guide and driver at the Airport.

Transfer into Dublin City for our Pilgrimage Mass. St. Therese of Lisieux, The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel & Shrine of Saint Valentine. Enjoy a panoramic tour of Dublin City. A panoramic tour is the ideal introduction to “Dublin’s Fair City”. The tour will introduce you to the principal sites, which you may then revisit at your leisure. You will visit the elegant Georgian squares, famous for its architecture and of course its famous doors. Pass by Trinity College, with the 8th century Book of Kells and the long room with its 200,000 books. Pass by St Patrick’s Cathedral. Built in 1192, it is one of Ireland’s largest Cathedrals made famous by its former dean Jonathan Swift, author Gulliver’s Travels.” Pass by Christchurch, built by the Anglo-Norman’s in 1172 to replace an earlier Church built by the Vikings in 1038, on your way to the Phoenix Park with its many monuments including the Papal Cross. Dinner and overnight in Dublin.

Day 3
Dublin

Visit Trinity College and the Guiness Brewery

Breakfast in hotel. Return to the city centre via the Quays and Collins Barrack, now part of the national museum, before arriving back into O’Connell Street and the city centre. We will visit the Guinness brewery as well as visit Trinity College and The Book of Kells. Dinner and overnight in Dublin. (Mass at St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral)

Day 4
Waterford- Melleray Abbey- Cohb

Breakfast in hotel. Then, we will drive to Waterford to visit the Waterford Crystal factory lying on the banks of the River Suir. The factory here is world renowned for its crystal. We will cross the Vee Gap to Mount Melleray Abbey to celebrate Mass in the Cistercian Monastery & Abbey Cappoquin and after have a chat over tea/scones. We drive to Cobh for dinner and overnight .

Day 5
Blarney

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church

Breakfast in hotel. Then, we drive to Blarney to visit and receive the gift of eloquence as we kiss the famous stone. We will have free afternoon to visit Blarney Woollen Mills is a prominent location featuring a historic mill and a large retail space. Originally established in 1823 as a wool spinning and weaving mill, it has since been repurposed into a shopping destination with a wide selection of Irish goods. Dinner and overnight in Cobh.

Day 6
Blarney – Holy Cross- County Clare

Breakfast in hotel. We will celebrate Mass in St. Colman’s Cathedral. Visit the Cobh Heritage Centre – it was from here that over 6 million Irish Famine exiles departed for the USA and Canada.

Drive to Holycross Abbey founded in 1169, to view a Relic of the True Cross. We will continue to the famous Rock of Cashel and visit the site of the conversion of the King of Munster by St Patrick in the 5th century. Dinner and overnight near the Cliffs of Moher.

Day 7
Cliffs of Moher- Galway

Breakfast the hotel. We depart for the Cliffs of Moher, towering 600 feet above sea level. After visiting the cliffs and having lunch, we will continue onto Galway city. A short Panoramic tour of Galway. We will visit St. Nicholas Cathedral – Mass TBD This evening you are free to enjoy the lively town with its numerous Irish music venues and quality restaurants for your own evening meal. Dinner and overnight in Galway.

Day 8
Galway- Knock – Dublin

Breakfast in hotel. This morning, we leave to visit Knock Shrine & Museum. This little town is an important pilgrimage centre and has been famous for over a century as the site of visions,

apparitions, and miraculous cures. The story of Knock began on the 21st August 1879 when Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist appeared at the south gable of Knock Parish Church. Fifteen people, young and old witnessed the apparition. From this miraculous occurrence Knock has grown to the status of an internationally recognized Marian Shrine. The personal pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II in 1979, commemorating the centenary of the apparition, inspired an even greater devotion to the Shrine and endorsed the indelible seal of Vatican approval. Mother Teresa of Calcutta visited the Shrine in June of 1993. One and a half million pilgrims visit the Shrine annually. Celebrate Mass at the Knock Shrine We continue Dublin for dinner and overnight .

Dublin

Breakfast in hotel. Our panoramic city sightseeing tour includes all the highlights of Dublin city – O’Connell Street, Trinity College, Georgian Squares, Government Buildings, Dublin Castle, Christchurch & St Patrick’s Cathedrals, Phoenix Park, and Kilmainham Jail. We enjoy a free afternoon to discover Dublin on our own and shop. Dinner and overnight in Dublin.

Return Home

Transfer to Dublin Airport for your return flight home.
